Old Ranch Country Club

Old Ranch Country Club is a private 18-hole Ted Robinson course in Seal Beach. The club describes a par-72 layout across 128 acres of lakes, mature trees and fairways without houses beside them. Golf access belongs to members and their invited guests; the separately operated practice center is open to the public.

Water shapes the round

The club’s hole-by-hole guide shows why placement matters more than a single total yardage. Water runs along the left side of the par-5 sixth, while a creek affects the drive and approach on the 12th. The par-5 14th asks for a carefully placed second shot near another lake, and water returns beside the 17th and 18th. The guide also calls attention to fairway bunkers, false fronts and sloping greens. These are useful landmarks for a guest preparing for a first round.

On the 18th, the club advises favoring the right side from the tee because water cuts into the far end of the fairway. The variety of demands rewards studying the hole tour rather than assuming every water hazard appears beside the green.

Golf access and practice

Old Ranch’s golf page lists 6,932 yards for the championship layout and describes bentgrass greens. It also distinguishes the member course from the Old Ranch Public Golf Center, which has a lighted driving range, hitting bays and short-game greens. Membership categories carry different course-access windows, so a prospective player should verify privileges with the club.
