Knollwood Country Club

Knollwood Country Club is a public 18-hole course in Granada Hills, laid out through rolling San Fernando Valley terrain. Once a private club, it now offers public tee times. The course opened in 1956 and is credited by the operator to William F. Bell.

Playing Knollwood

The par-72 course measures 6,385 yards in the operator’s course overview. Rolling ground, narrow fairways bordered by mature trees and guarded greens make placement more useful than simply chasing distance. Its multiple tee positions let golfers adjust approach length while retaining the same terrain and angles. The opening green is highlighted in the club’s description as an early example of the course’s sloping site. Walkers should expect more elevation change than at the valley’s flatter municipal courses.

Practice and access

Knollwood’s practice facility includes a two-tier, 42-stall range, two putting greens and short-game space. It supports a full warm-up before a round, as well as a separate practice visit. The contact page places the pro shop at 12040 Balboa Boulevard and lists its current operating hours. Reserve online or ask the shop about the day’s course and range schedule, especially if you plan to practice before an early tee time; the range has a later Thursday opening listed for maintenance.
